It’s in Monte da Oliveira Velha, between Évora and Estremoz, that one of the best olive oils in Portugal is born – our Love is Blind. Tasting it in the shade of the olive trees where it comes from and in the company of those who produce it can be unforgettable. For us it is always inspiring to receive guests. Come to know our history.
In the family for 3 generations, Monte da Oliveira Velha is a special place in the middle of Alentejo. It’s 5 hectares lined with olive trees that my grandfather took care of all his life. This is where the olives that give rise to our olive oil Amor é Cego are born. A dream that we realized in 2015, of which we are proud and that preserves and honours a rich heritage, with more than 7 decades. It is a monovarietal extra virgin olive oil from Galega, cold extracted, which reveals itself balanced and harmonious, preserving the Galician matrix: ripe fruity, with notes of tomato and nuts and a slightly spicy finish. We invite everyone to visit us at our home, to taste our olive oil in the best possible scenario – in its origin. We welcome you with simplicity and with the characteristic hospitality of the region. We offer a genuine experience that can only be tasted in our company or a special meal in the shade of an ancient olive tree.
We have 2 parking spaces for autonomous motorhome (with toilet) in the middle of the olive grove and overlooking Ossa Hills. Access to the farm is via a narrow dirt road. There is no signposting indicating of it. Suitable for small motorhomes only.
Open every day. All visits are subject to prior booking with an appointment to be arranged according to our availability, via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have different experiences (prices and conditions on request):
We are 17 km from Évora, Unesco world heritage site, and 25 km from Estremoz, where on Saturday morning you can visit the interesting weekly market with vegetables, cheeses, sausages, sweets, handicrafts as well as antiques. On the way don’t miss Évoramonte castle as well as Ossa Hills.
