About us

Portuguese winemaker António Maçanita and english consultant and viticulturist David Booth met at the beginning of 2004. Over the following months, António learned viticulture from David and a great friendship developed. The next step would be to make wine. First wine, first success, with Trophy Alentejo at the International Wine Challenge. Currently, António Maçanita is one of the leading Portuguese winemakers of his generation. He was named winemaker of the year in 2018, and Fitapreta won the producer of the year award in 2020!

What we do

Fita Preta, inserted in the Palace of Morgado da Oliveira, produces wines that reflect the character of our region, but also what we wish it to be. We are as close to deepening our culture and local castes as we are in changing the world with new challenges, new paths and new blends. We produce each of our wines with the absolute sense of responsibility that we have to love them. And we hope you can share our aesthetic for wine and… maybe… for life.

Parking conditions

We have one parking space for an autonomous motorhome (with toilet) by the vineyards.
